Apart from being the largest network in Nigeria, I must say that MTN is proving to be at the fore front of innovation. The network with over 38.6 million subscribers as at December 2010, has recently unleashed 3 tablets into the Nigerian tablet space within a month. It started with a promotional Apple ipad offer which is being bundled with 6GB of data (valid for 1 year) and a free micro SIM. The 32G model sells for N157,000 (approx. $1,000) while the 16G model sells for N141,000 (approx. $898). It then introduced the Samsung Galaxy tablet bundled with 6GB of data also (valid for 1 year) and free data, sms and voice minutes. I am sure the exclusivity period enjoyed by Etisalat Nigeria expired hence the possibility of launching the Samsung tablet on the MTN network. Now it has now come out with the Huawei S7 tablet. This comes with 3G data allowance and free data, voice and sms. All these are available from any MTN outlet. You can check www.mtnonline.com for more information.

The New Walkie Talkie
I read this piece in amusement and decided to share it with you. It is quite interesting. I got it from my sister-in-law whom I admire for her interesting insight into seemingly everyday things. This article is about the way some people use their phones in a bid to facilitate discourse.
