January 18th 2013, at 2.30 a.m. Eastern Time, it registered its 1 millionth member on the site.

Nairaland is a big, broad discussion forum for Nigerians. It covers dozens of topics including romance, technology, careers, business, and entertainment. And it has really been growing at a fast pace.

Nairaland was founded and is owned by Seun Osewa

According to an interview he held with Nmachi Jidenma of CP-Africa, Seun opened Nairaland to the public on the 25th of March, 2005 after working on it for about two weeks.

According to a Techloy post 4 months ago, Nairaland sees over 12 million pageviews monthly. I guess it could have increased by now.
